Rose's Story

This is a simple recipe for Boston Pork Butt. If you want to add other seasonings please do so after cooking.But first try it the way it's cooked then you can season it according to your tastes.Posted to this site on August 29th 2010. Previously posted to RecipeZaar.


4 1/2 lb
boston butt pork roast
find more delicious recipes at
3/4 c
roughly chopped sweet onion
2 tsp
garlic powder
2 tsp
ground black pepper
2 tsp
seasoned salt

Directions Step-By-Step

Take all the dry ingredients and mix together,then rub mix evenly over roast.
Place into crockpot then cover with onions, and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours depending on how hot your crockpot runs.
Remove roast, using two forks shred meat to blend in onions.At this time taste to see if you need to adjust seasonings.

    Missing Liquid?? . . I have to ask. . . I see "no Liquid" added in the Crock pot for this Pork Butt to cook in. I would think there would have to be a little Liquid in this pot.

    Hi Freda,
    Since the meat usually has enough fat, there's no need to add any liquid.

    Whenever I cook a beef roast in my crockpot, I don't add liquid either and it always ends up with plenty. I'll have to try this. I don't think I've ever cooked a pork roast in the crockpot.

    This looks so good, as Many of the recipes do on JAP. I have got to try this "No Liquid Version". Don't think I have ever did it that way. I usually add Just a touch of Liquid, For some reason.Moisture I guess.
