Pork Carnitas

After removing from the oven I like to shred the meat and mix it with homemade beans and Spanish rice to make a burrito filling but would also make a good taco filling on it's own

This recipe is off the Farmland Carnitas meat pkg.

Ingredients

2 tsp
ground black pepper
2 tsp
garlic powder
2 tsp
onion powder
1 1/2 tsp
salt
1/2 tsp
ground mexican oregano
1/2 tsp
dried cilantro leaves
1/4 tsp
cumin
3 lb
pork picnic shoulder meat

Directions Step-By-Step

Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Combine all seasonings in small bowl; mix well.

Place meat in 13x9 baking dish and sprinkle meat with seasoning mix on and coat thoroughly

Cover pan tightly with foil. Bake for 1 1/2 -2 hrs or until very tender. Remove foil and bake an additional 15-20 min until meat is crisp on outside. Shred or slice meat to your liking
