1.5 lb
lean ground beef
1/2 lb
italian sausage
1 slice
onion, chopped
1 c
instant potato flakes, dry
egg, slightly beaten
1 can(s)
beef broth
1/2 c
1/2 tsp
1/2 tsp
italian seasoning


1In a large bowl, combine all ingredients.

2Shape into a 7" meatball.

3Place a trivet in pot.

4Place meat ball on a double thickness of cheesecloth (about 24" square).

5Holding the ends of cheesecloth, gently lower meat into pot.

6Loosely fold cloth over top of meat.

7Cover; cook on low 6-7 hours.

8Holding ends of cloth, lift meat from pot.

9Cut into wedges.

10Makes 6 or 7 wedges.
