Dutch's Notes:

Ya say ya want EASY??? Wellll, I'm gonna giv' ya EASY!!!:)

Directions

1
Rinse and cut the ribs into sections you like. I usually cut two bones. Don't worry about that membrane on the concave side, just forget about it.
2
Rub them down well, front and back with the rub.
3
Put lemon juice and water in a crock pot. (I use a large one)
4
Pile the ribs in haystack style, so they have room for air to circulate.
5
Cook on low for SIX hours, DON'T lift the lid to check. You should start smelling them at 5:30+
6
Remove when they're done and using a pastry brush, liberally coat them with BBQ sauce of your choosing. They will be falling off the bone tender and juicy...
7
I do these at least 2~3 times a month. Friends bring the ribs and ask me to cook for them.

I use a Texas BBQ Rub, but any pork rub will do...Yes, they are falling apart, but still not dry...Here's a very simple Rub:

1/2 cup freshly ground black pepper
2 tablespoons ground cayenne pepper(Less if you don't want spicy)
1 cup dark brown sugar
2 tablespoons salt
1/2 tablespoon garlic salt

This one is a little more complex

# 1/2 cup salt
# 1/4 cup pepper
# 1 Tbsp garlic powder
# 1 Tbsp oregano
# 1 Tbsp celery seed
# 1 Tbsp paprika
# 1 Tbsp chile powder
# 1/2 Tbsp salt

Mix these spices and give them a day or so to "marry"

I find that making any ribs in a slow cooker makes them look sloppy, they taste awesome. So if you wanna catch someones eye put them in the oven layed out flat no layers it sometimes takes 2 or 3 pans. Cook them on low (everyones oven temps are different test some out with yours first) for 3 to 5 hours in a spiced and/or herbed water with a little of your fav BBQ sauce in it. Just before there falling off the bone drain them and put your fav BBQ sauce on put them back in on broil for 5 to 20 minutes and lift them out with a spatula and plate them. They look good and taste even better!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes Mary, I think so too. I've tried MANY and made scads of my own, but none that compared to Sweet Baby Ray's...IMHO

Wellll, Michelle...I've posted a picture of ribs done my way, yesterday. Do they look sloppy to you? Some here may not have the time or inclination to do their ribs your way. I posted this recipe for those that would like the EASIEST reasonable outcome, regardless of their cooking expertise.

The two pieces in the picture are all that I could keep for myself. The couple I cooked them for cried about THAT, wanted them all!

I cooked BBQ professionally for over 20 years, NOT my first Rodeo.

Thank you Mary...I once did these at a BBQ competition for fun. Didn't enter them, but people asked all day about how I'd done them, how long in the smoker etc. (I'd painted them with Wrights Liquid Smoke before rubbing them down) My team and I laughed all day long...

You're welcome, Freda...Being BUSY, this is JUST the recipe for you...Rub, stuff an' fergit! Taste those Rubs and see if you'd like to adjust before using. If you paint w/ Wrights, before the Rub, go REAL easy! LOL...I'm sure you must know that...First time I ever used it, I ruined 8# of beans!!! LOL Even the crows wouldn't eat 'em...

Didn't mention, but ribs should be a little wet. so you get a nice slurry of Rub on them...
