My family loves having this on a cold day, it really warms them up. It's thick like a stew so I love to serve it with homemade dinner rolls, so they can dip them in the gravy. Oh so yummy and it is easy on the pocket book.

Ingredients

1 pkg
country style gravy mix (enough to make 2 cups)
1 can(s)
cream of chicken soup (or mushroom)
5 c
water
1 tsp
cream of tartar
1 1/2 tsp
salt
1 tsp
ground pepper
8 c
peeled and cubed potatoes
4 c
cooked and cubed ham (leftover works great)
2 c
cheddar cheese, shredded

Directions Step-By-Step

1
Mix the first six(6) ingredients together in a six to eight quart slow cooker until well blended.
2
Stir in your cubed ham and potatoes.
3
Turn your slow cooker to low and cook for 6-8 hours.
4
When done turn off your slow cooker and stir in your cheddar cheese until it's all melted. Serve with rolls, toast or biscuits!

I've also used some pre-grilled steak cubed up in place of the ham, and cream of mushroom soup instead of chicken....also very good!
