This is one of my favorite “go-to” meals to prepare. It’s simple, easy to prepare and it’s delicious.

Ingredients For bridgette's smothered pork chops

  • 1/2 stick butter
  • enough oil to cover the bottom of your pan (i used olive oil) 1 c chopped onion 1/2 c chopped celery 1/2 c chopped bell peppers 1 c tony chachere brown gravy mix (prepared as directed on the container) 2 bay leaves onion powder garlic powder
  • package of pork chops (bone in)

How To Make bridgette's smothered pork chops

    1. Heat you pan and add oil and butter.

    Season the chops with onion powder and garlic power
  • 3
    3. Add the chops to hot oil. I fried on one side for 3 minutes then the other side for 2 minutes and removed to continue frying the rest of the pork chops.

    4. Set pork chops to the side

    5. Add celery and bell peppers to the pan and sauté for 5 minutes.

    6. Add onions and fry for 5 minutes

    7. Add gravy to the pan and let simmer for 5 minutes

    8. Return chops to gravy and let simmer for 1 hour or until the chops are as tender as you desire. I like my chops very tender, almost “falling off the bone”.

    9. Serve with with rice and corn or peas and potato salad and ENJOY!
