Chop onion and peppers. Place in a dutch oven with the brats and butter. Cover with beer.
Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to simmer until brats are cooked.
Remove brats and set aside the beer mixture. Grill brats until they get the lovely brown grill marks, then return them to the beer mixture.
Serve brats in a good sized brat bun with spicy brown mustard, or your condiment of choice. Enjoy!
