SLUMGULLION

With a family of 5 and an occasional extra guest plus a tight budget, this was a dish my Mother made quite often. It can be expanded to feed a large crowd. The cheese thickens the soup and adds more delicious flavor. My family loves the dish and requests it quite often. We love to eat it in a bowl with mashed potatoes and hot buttered biscuits on the side plus a tossed salad. MHMMMM GOOD!!!! Try it and see how yummy it is!!!

Method:
Stove Top

Ingredients

1 1/2 lb
ground chuck
1 large
can stewed or diced tomatoes
1 can(s)
(14.5 oz) tomato sauce
2-4 can(s)
water (more as needed)
1/2
bell pepper, chopped
1/2 medium
onion, chopped
1-2 slice
american cheese
1 c
macaroni
1 Tbsp
salt
1 tsp
pepper
1 Tbsp
chili powder
1-2 stalk(s)
celery, chopped finely

Step-By-Step

1Brown ground chuck in large saucepan or soup pot and drain grease.

2Add tomatoes and tomato sauce plus 2-4 cans of water. Add bell pepper, celery and onion and let boil until tender.

3Add cheese and stir until melted. Add macaroni and simmer until done. If macaroni soaks up too much liquid, just add more water as needed.

4Season to taste with salt, pepper and chili powder.
