Hearty Noodle Casserole

Ingredients

16 oz
noodles, uncooked
1.5 lb
ground beef
1/2 c
onions, coarsely chopped
1 can(s)
cream of mushroom soup
1 can(s)
cream of chicken soup
3 c
cheddar cheese, cubed
3/4 c
milk
1/2 tsp
salt
1/4 tsp
pepper
1 c
chow mein noodles
1 c
cashews

Step-By-Step

1Cook noodles according to package directions.

2Drain.

3Rinse with hot water.

4Heat oven to 350.

5In a large skillet, brown ground beef and onion.

6Drain.

7In a large bowl, combine soups, cheese, milk, salt and pepper.

8Add cooked ground beef and noodles; stir gently.

9Pour into 2 ungreased 2 quart casseroles.

10Cover and bake at 350 for 25 to 35 minutes or until thoroughly heated.

11Uncover and sprinkle with chow mein noodles and cashews.

12Bake an additional 10 minutes.

13Each casserole makes 6 (1 1/3 cup) servings.

14To freeze casserole, place in the freezer after the casserole is mixed, before baking.

15To prepare, thaw completely; increase baking time to 45 to 55 minutes.

16Colby cheese may be used instead of cheddar cheese.

17Peanuts may be used instead of cashews.
