Ingredients
| 4 oz | uncooked fettuccine |
| 3 Tbsp | butter |
| 1 c | heavy whipping cream |
| 1/2 c | freshly grated parmesan cheese |
| 1/2 c | freshly grated romano cheese |
| 2 | egg yolks, lightly beaten |
| 1/8 tsp | salt |
| 1/8 tsp | pepper |
| 1/4 - 1/2 tsp | garlic powder (amount depends on your taste) |
| dash | nutmeg |

Directions
Cook fettuccine according to package directions. *Make sure to salt the pasta cooking water for flavor.
Meanwhile, in a saucepan, melt butter over medium-low heat.Whisk in cream, cheeses, egg yolks, salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Cook and stir over medium-low heat until hot to the touch, but not boiling (thermometer will read 160 degrees).Drain fettuccine. Pour sauce over pasta and grate some Parmesan over the top.

My husband's favorite is when I add sauteed mushrooms and shrimp to your basic recipe. Sometimes I throw in frozen chopped broccoli. I just throw the chopped broccoli and cooked shrimp abou the last couple minutes of cooking the pasta. Drain and mix with the sauce mmmm....
