This CHILI MAC casserole Version Was brought to a PotLuck, (this is MY OWN VERSION of her recipe)
Never Fails to Dissappear, with 2# of beef your sure to have more beef than beans in this dish.

Easy Healthy and Tasty. Tastes even better on day 2.

Lightly Spiced, Just add a green salad & some fritos on your plate for a Full Meal Deal.

Ingredients

CHILI MAC N BEEF CASSEROLE USE 9 X13 BAKING DISH
1 1/2 C
elbo macaroni cook according tp pkg directions, drain.
2 lbs
lean ground beef ( salt & pepper season to taste) while browning
1/2 med
onion, diced
2 cloves
fresh garlic, or tsp garlic pdr
1 can
(15 oz) hormel chili with beans
1 can
(15oz) hormel chili without beans
1 sm
can green chilies chopped (add juice)
1 tsp
cumin (i added 2 tsp)
1-1/2 tsp
salt
pepper to taste
1 pkg
lawreys or mccormicks taco seasoning
2 C
shredded mexican cheese blend
TOPPINGS
blk olives, sour cream & green onions , tortilla chips or fritos(optional) toppings

Directions Step-By-Step

PREHEAT OVEN 375.
Pam spray your 9X13 dish set aside.
Cook Macaroni according to Pkg Directions. DRAIN.

As Macaroni is cooking; in a large Skillet or SAUCE PAN, Brown the beef, onion, garlic, over Med Heat. DRAIN off any Fat.

Stir in the Chili, both Cans,
Rinse cans with 1 TBS water ea, add to pan.

add seasonings, toss well. continue heating till hot and bubbly
ADD Drained Macaroni, to the Beef mixture. Toss well.

Transfer to a (PAM)cooking sprayed 9 X 13 Baking dish
COVER, & Bake @ 350 for 20-25 min or till bubbly.

Uncover; Sprinkle with Cheese, Bake another 8-10 min longer, only until cheese is fully melted.
Remove from Oven Serve with a Dollop of Sour Cream Black Olives and green Onions sprinkled on top.

Hint:
for a full meal deal, add a green salad & Fritos . . . Enjoy

This sounds delicious. I love cumin so 2 t. sounds right to me. The only thing I would do differently is use two cans of chili without the beans. Being born and raised in Texas, I'm opposed to beans in my chili! ;)

I would like to see more comments about how you liked the recipe and if you would make any changes to the recipe, what would they be. It would be more helpful when contemplating on making this recipe.

"Thanks BEV", Glad You enjoyed this, Even tho you had No Taco Seasoning.
I Call this Comfort Food.
Taco Seasoning has a thicker in it so You may not Have any liquid when You make it Next time.

TIP: I do Drain my Burger, & My Noodles well when I make this.
