Braised Beef with Noodles

Ingredients

1 c
beef chuck, boneless and cut in 1" cubes
1.5 c
water
1/4 tsp
salt
pinch
pepper
1
bay leaf
1 small
onion, coarsely chopped
1/4 c
diced celery
1 Tbsp
flour
1 Tbsp
water
1.5 c
noodles, cooked

Step-By-Step

1Brown beef cubes in saucepan until well browned.

2Add 1-1/2 cups water, salt, pepper, and bay leaf.

3Cover and cook over low heat until beef is almost tender--about 1 hour.

4Add onion and celery.

5Continue cooking until meat and vegetables are tender--about 20 minutes.

6Remove bay leaf.

7Mix flour and water until smooth.

8Stir into beef mixture.

9Cook, stirring constantly, until thickened--about 2 minutes.

10Serve over noodles.
