Perfect for these hot summer nights! Goes together quickly and not too heavy! Serving it tonight along side some grilled BBQ pork chops.

Notes from the Test Kitchen:
Fresh and satisfying, creamy and crunchy! We love the bacon flavor (of course) and are thinking about adding grilled chicken the next time we make it! Yum.


1 box
rotini pasta, 1 lb.
green onions, chopped
1 pt
cherry tomatoes, halved
1 1/4 c
celery, diced
1 1/4 c
5 tsp
white vinegar
1 Tbsp
1 lb
cooked bacon, crumbled
salt & pepper to taste

Directions Step-By-Step

Cook pasta according to package directions. Drain and rinse in cold water.

In large bowl, combine pasta, green onions, tomatoes and celery. (I didn't have celery today, so I used celery seed instead)

In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, vinegar, sugar, salt & pepper, then pour over pasta mixture. Cover and chill.

Just before serving, add bacon.

Any pasta will do, just use whatever you have on hand.

As for replacing the mayo, I suppose you could use whatever you normally swap it out with (yogurt, etc.), but once you mix the mayo with the other ingredients in this recipe, it doesn't taste like mayo anymore, but like a salad dressing.

I use a 1 lb. box of pasta and I'll update the recipe with that info - thanks!

looks like a yummy recipe, and I like the idea of adding the cooked chicken as well. Just on note, what size of box of rotini? I am assuming the small 454 gram or 1 lb box... Lots of sizes! Thanks for posting your recipe..
