Ingredients

1 lb
hamburg
1 1/2 c
water
1/2 large
onion
3-4 stick
of celery (chopped)
1 can(s)
bean sprouts
1 can(s)
sliced or whole chestnuts
1 can(s)
sliced mushrooms or peas

SAUCE:

1/2 c
water
2 Tbsp
cornstarch
1 tsp
gravy master
1 Tbsp
soy sauce
1 tsp
worcestershire sauce
1 tsp
sugar
topping 1 can chow mein noodles

I ADJUST THIS SAUCE BY ADDING MORE SOY SAUCE AND WORCESTERSHIRE SAUCE TO GIVE IT A LITTLE KICK AS THEY SAY.

Directions Step-By-Step

1
Fry hamburg in large skillet ~ drain grease if needed. Pour water in and add chopped celery and onion ~cover ~ let simmer til tender (10-15 Min)
2
Add canned bean sprouts and canned sliced or whole chestnuts that have been drained and rinsed under cold water then add to pan and heat til hot. (can also add canned mushrooms, whole or sliced)
3
Sauce: mix all ingredients together and stir as you add to hamburg ~ add more water as needed. (I add more soy sauce and worcestershire sauce to give it more zip)
4
Pour all over boiled Rice (around 2 cups) and top with chow mein noodles.
