A country favorite! Beans & Cornbread!

Stove Top


1 lb
hickory smoked bacon, cut into smaller pieces
1/3 c
brown sugar
2-3 Tbsp
liquid smoke
3 Tbsp
chili powder
3 Tbsp
onion powder
3 Tbsp
garlic powder
2 Tbsp
black pepper
1 medium
onion, chopped
1 1/2 lb
pinto beans, dried

Directions Step-By-Step

In a large stock pot, cook bacon and onion, add remaining ingredients, cover with water and allow to boil, reduce heat and simmer on low heat until beans are tender. Serve with My 1910 Cornbread, sliced onion and tomato!
You may need to add water as it cooks off. Some people like alot of "soup" with their beans others don't. Adjust spices according to your taste. This can be a meal in itself or serve as a side!
