Always good on a cold day. I make the big pot to share with my kids and family when they come over but this recipe can also be halved.

Method:

Stove Top

Ingredients

5 1/2 lb
ground chuck
1 c
self rising flour
28 oz
can of tomato sauce
15 oz
fire roasted tomatoes 2 cans
4 can(s)
pinto beans
2 c
beef stock, not broth. may add more if needed
2-3 tsp
chili powder
2 tsp
or about of cumin
red pepper flakes to taste
garlic salt to taste
salt to taste

Directions Step-By-Step

1
in 8 quart stock pot, brown the ground chuck, drain. put back in the pot and stir in the cup of flour while the meat is still hot.
2
while the ground chuck is cooking add to another stock pot, (I use a 16 quart one but a 12 quart one will hold it all too. It's not a small recipe!)the rest of the ingredients except the beef stock and heat to boiling. Stir frequently as it will stick and scorch if you don't.
3
When everything is heated through stir in the meat and flour mixture. Add beef stock and stir till it is the consistency you want. Simmer on low till heated through again.
4
Enjoy with crackers or a big pan of sweet cornbread and lots of friends and family!
