For those who don’t already know, a Frito Pie is basically just corn chips (preferably Frito’s) slathered in chili and cheese. Both San Antonio Texas and Santa Fe New Mexico claim to have invented this dish, but they’re both wrong. Frito pie was created by the Frito Lay Test kitchens (first called Frito Chili Pie) & was first served in Dallas Texas in 1949. Ingredients

beef franks (or franks of your choice)
2 c
frito's corn chips (regular sized)
32 oz
of your favorite no-bean chili
1 c
shredded cheddar cheese

hot dog buns
chopped onions and sliced jalapeños, as garnish

Directions Step-By-Step

Cook hot dogs and heat chili.

Place about 1/4 cup of corn chips on hot dog bun.

Add cooked franks.

Pour over about 2 Tablespoons chili.

Top with cheese, onions and jalapeños.

Serve immediately with a good cold beer or soda.
