Ingredients

1 lb
ground beef
2 Tbsp
oil,if desired
1 jar(s)
spaghetti sauce (32oz)
1 jar(s)
sliced mushrooms (4.5oz)
2 Tbsp
purchased creamy garlic or creamy italian salad dressing
1/4 c
water

DUMPLINGS

1 c
all purpose flour
2 tsp
baking powder
1/4 tsp
salt
1 c
frozen cut leaf spinach,thawed,squeezed to drain(from 1 lb pkg)
1/2 c
grated romano or parmesan cheese
2 Tbsp
oil
1
egg
1/4 to 1/3 c
milk

Directions Step-By-Step

In a large skillet,brown ground beef in 2 tbsp oil;drain. Add sauce,mushrooms,salad dressing and water;mix well. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer while preparing dumplings,stirring occasionally.

In medium bowl,combine flour,baking powder and salt;blend well. In small bowl,combine spinach,cheese, 2 tbsp oil,egg and 1/4 cup milk;stir until dry ingredients are just moistened, adding more milk if necessary to form a soft dough. Drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls onto hot stew mixture. Cover tightly. Simmer for 12 to 15 minutes or until dumplings are fluffy and no longer doughy on bottom.
