Sour Cream Halibut

Living on the coast in Alaska insures you have abundant fish. Halibut is one of my favorite options. It is a firm but mild white fish. This is one of the easy, quick recipes that my family loves. Almost every Alaskan has their own version of this recipe.

I like to serve this with rice.

Ingredients

1 1/2 - 2 lb
halibut, cut into 1 inch peices
1 c
saltine cracker crumbs ( i use whole wheat ones)
1 c
sour cream
1 c
mayonnaise
3/4 c
chopped onion
2 c
mozzerella cheese, shredded

Directions Step-By-Step

Coat halibut with cracker crumbs and place in a greased 9x13 inch baking dish in a single layer. Cover with shredded cheese.

Mix sour cream, mayonnaise and onion together (I add salt and pepper to taste) and spread over the cheese layer. Try to completely cover the cheese in order to seal in the moisture of the fish.

Bake at 500 degrees F. for 20 minutes.
