Ingredients

1 x lg egg
3/4 c beer
1 c self rising cornmeal
2 1/2 c self rising flour
3/4 c buttermilk
4 lg shrimp, peeled, deveined, tails off, cooked, minced
1 lg onion, diced
1/2 c cheddar cheese, shredded
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 c sugar
vegetable oil
SERVE WITH:
sour cream
ranch dressing

Directions

Mix all ingredients (except oil) together; mix well. Chill for 1 hour.

Heat oil in deep fryer to 350 degrees F.

Drop by tsp into hot oil (a few at a time, not to crowd) until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.

Serve with sour cream or ranch dressing with fried fish! Mmmmmmm!

Its actually comes from true advertisement to buy SC from the sea, fresh. I think it also includes NC. Farm raised shrimp is considered to be on drugs. Even think I have seen bumper stickers about staying away from shrimp on drugs. Nothing beats it straight from the sea. Second best is having oodles in the freezer frozen solid in water. We eat chicken I feel sure on all sorts of drugs and other meats. So nice to know there are some food that hasn't seen been intentionally fed drugs. LOL
