"Fried" Fish Fillets are just like the fried fish you were used to growing up as a kid, except they aren't fried! These are breaded & baked fish fillets that have a perfect crunch on the outside & tenderness on the inside. They'll never know it's not "fried".

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds thick fish fillets (your favorite), cut bite size
  • 1 1/4 cups milk
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon dill
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • TOPPING:
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs, dry
  • 1/4 teaspoon poultry seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon parsley flakes
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper

How To Make "fried" fish fillets

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
  • Step 2
    Place fish pieces in ungreased shallow 2 qt casserole dish.
  • Step 3
    Whisk milk into flour in small saucepan until no lumps remain.
  • Step 4
    Add dill weed, salt & pepper. Heat & stir until boiling & thickened. Pour over fish.
  • Step 5
    FOR TOPPING: Melt margarine in small saucepan. Mix in remaining 5 ingredients. Sprinkle over sauce.
  • Step 6
    Bake, uncovered, for about 40 minutes until fish flakes when tested with fork.
