Georgane's Story

I discovered Steelhead trout a while back.. I like it better than salmon. This is one way I fix it. And I serve it with Curried Mayo.. recipe linked to bottom of this recipe


2 large filet's of steelhead trout or salmon to serve 5 or 6 people.
tablespoons fresh dill or less of dried.
tablespoon butter and olive oil
salt and pepper, optional crushed red pepper

Directions Step-By-Step

Season skin side.
Place skin side down on pan.
Squeeze lemon and sprinkle dill, salt and pepper over fish.
Drizzle olive oil or put several pats of butter evenly on the fish
Bake in 425 degree oven for about 20 minutes until it's nice and brown and flakes.. but do not cook till it's dried out.

So moist and delicious! I like a simple recipe and this did the trick. I eliminated the pepper on mine and used lemon pepper on my husbands since that is his favorite. Did everything else the same. Sooo Good!

Love this recipe. It works well with Salmon also!

hey Deb, luckily no one here really likes smoked. My son is not a fan of steelhead or salmon, but he will eat it. He prefers Talipia. maybe you could still serve it with the curry sauce? not sure.
