From a hot dog restaurant in Bonita Springs or Naples, Florida....unfortunally I can't remember the name of the place! All I remember it had a Yellow Volkswagon The Thing in front.

Ingredients For walking tacos

  • 2 Tbsp
    olive oil, extra virgin
  • 8 oz
    ground beef (can use chicken or turkey too)
  • 1/2 md
    onion, diced
  • 1/2 pkg
    taco seasoning mix
  • 3 Tbsp
    water
  • pepper, to taste
  • 1/4 tsp
    red pepper flakes
  • 5 pkg
    fritos (single size bags)
  • lettuce, shredded
  • tomato, diced
  • cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 5 Tbsp
    sour cream
  • 1
    avocado, diced

How To Make walking tacos

    In a large skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Add beef & onion. Cook until beef is no longer pink, breaking it up as it cooks. Add taco seasoning, water, flakes & pepper. Cook 1 minute more.

    Meanwhile, open frito bags & gently crush. Divide lettuce amoung the bags.

    Add beef mixture evenly throughout the bags & then add tomato & cheese. Top each with 1 tbsp sour cream & diced avocado.
