Sugar Barbecued Chicken

pinch tips: How to Carve a Whole Chicken




3 tbsp. oil, divided
3 chicken breasts, halved
2 medium onion, chopped
2 t. mustard powder
pepper to taste
3 tbsp. lemon juice
3/4 cup orange juice
1 tbsp beef bouillon, dry
1 t. cider vinegar
1 can tomato paste (6 oz)
1 1/2 cups water
3 tbsp. brown sugar
1/4 t. sage

Directions Step-By-Step

In large skillet, heat half the oil. Add half the chicken and fry over
medium heat until browned on both sides. Transfer to a 9 x 13" baking dish.
Repeat with remaining oil and chicken. Add onions to same skillet. Cook over
low heat 10 minutes. Stir occasionally.
Preheat oven to 300. Stir in
remaining ingredients except chicken. Simmer 5 minutes. Stir occasionally.
Pour over chicken. Cover and bake 1 1/2 hours. Serves 6
