Orange Chicken Wings

My boys love chicken wings and I make different sauces for them,this is one of our favorites.

2 lb chicken wings
1 egg
1 1/2 t salt
1 1/2 t. white pepper
1/2 plus 1 t. cornstarch
1/4 c flour
1 t. minced fresh ginger root
2 t. minced garlic
dash of crushed red pepper flakes
1/4 c chopped green onions
1 t. rice vinegar
1/2 c orange juice
1/4 t. orange rind
1/4 c water
1 t sesame oil

Directions Step-By-Step

Cut chicken wings into 2 pieces,place in bowl.Stir in egg,salt pepper 1 T oil and mix well.Stir cornstarch and flour together add chicken pieces stirring to coat.
Heat oil in wok for deep frying . Add chicken in small batches and fry.Remove chicken from oil,drain and set aside.
Clean wok and heat over high heat add 1 T. oil add ginger and garlic stir frying until fragrant. Add crushed pepper flakes,green onion,vinegar,orange juice and rind,stirring until well mixed. Stir water into remaining 1 T cornstarch until smooth add to sauce and heat until sauce is thickened, stir in sesame oil. Pour over chicken wings.Serve at once.
