My Dad's Best BBQ Chicken

My dad sent me this recipe and it is really good. The prep time is minimal (not counting the 6-9 hours for marinading) it is an easy recipe. It usually takes about an hour to cook the chicken slowly but cook times will depend on your grill.

chicken breast halves, skinless and boneless
1 c
vegetable oil
2 c
lemon lime flavored carbonated beverage ( we use sprite)
1 c
soy sauce
1 1/2 tsp
garlic powder

Directions Step-By-Step

To make the marinade: in a medium sized bowl combine the oil, beverage, soy sauce and garlic powder. Stir thoroughly until you have a good mixture.
Combine the chicken and marinade in a covered container and marinade in the fridge for 6-9 hours (12-18 hours if using chicken with the bone and skin still intact).
Barbecue slowly on the grill- do not overcook. Turn frequently, basting with the marinade with each turn. Cook until meat is no longer pink in the center and juices run clear. Discard any remaining marinade. **Note you can use an injector to inject some of the marinade into the meat.
