3 pounds chicken legs & thighs
1 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
2 c buttermilk
flour for dredging
vegetable oil for frying

Salt and pepper chicken. Place the chicken in a shallow dish or ziploc bag; add buttermilk. Cover or seal for at least 2 hours.
Remove the chicken pieces, discard buttermilk. Dredge the chicken pieces in flour. Pour oil in fry pan or Dutch oven and heat to 350*(I used an electric skillet). Add the floured chicken a few pieces at a time and cook 8 minutes then turn and cook for 8 minutes longer or until golden brown. Drain on paper towel.

Angela, this is how my Aunt Idie use to do her fried chicken and hands down, was the best! She always would tell everyone in the family not to add lots of spices to the chicken or flour, just s&p and she was right! Glad you posted this one, and thank you for another great recipe!!!!!
