Ingredients

  • 2 pounds chicken breasts, boneless & skinless
  • - salt & pepper, to taste
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce, low sodium
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup tomato paste, no salt added
  • 1/4 cup rice vinegar
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon sriracha hot chili sauce (or more to taste)
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 teaspoons sesame seeds
  • 2 - scallions, sliced (both greens & whites)

How To Make crock pot honey sesame chicken

  • Step 1
    Place chicken in crock pot & season with salt & pepper.
  • Step 2
    In a medium bowl, combine soy sauce, honey, tomato paste, vinegar, garlic, 1 tbsp water, sesame oil, onion powder & sriracha hot chili sauce. Pour over chicken & cook on LOW 3 - 4 hours.
  • Step 3
    Remove chicken, leaving the sauce in the slow cooker. Shred chicken with two forks; set aside.
  • Step 4
    In a small bowl, dissolve cornstarch in 1/4 C water; add to the slow cooker & stir to combine. Cover & cook on HIGH until slightly thickened, about 15 - 20 minutes; return chicken to the slow cooker & mix well.
  • Step 5
    Serve chicken & sauce over rice & top with sesame seeds & chopped scallions for garnish.
