An unusual chicken dish, for cranberry season

1 ready to cook broiler fryer, 2 1/2 to 3 lbs., cut up
1/3 cup flour
1 tsp. salt
4 tbsp. butter or margarine
1 1/2 cups fresh cranberries
3/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup chopped onion
1 tsp. grated orange peel
3/4 cup orange juice
1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp. ground ginger

Directions Step-By-Step

Coat chicken pieces with a mixture of the flour and salt. Brown in melted butter in skillet, turning once. Meanwhile, mix remaining ingredients in pan. Bring to boiling. Pour over chicken. Cover and cook slowly 35 to 40 minutes or til chicken is tender. Serves 4
