Mexican Casserole

My sister in law, Laura, had us over years ago and served this delicious and a little different Mexican casserole. My boys always liked it. Was it the addition of their favorite, Ranch style beans maybe?
Note: I use 2 lbs ground beef and 1 can green chilis. We're a meat eating family!

Ingredients

1 pkg
corn tortillas, 12 pk
1 1/2 lb
ground beef
1
onion medium chopped
1 lb
velveeta cheese grated or small pieces
1 can(s)
ranch style beans
1 can(s)
cream of chicken soup
1 can(s)
rotel tomatoes w/chiles
1 Tbsp
chili powder
1 tsp
garlic powder
salt and pepper

Directions Step-By-Step

Cook ground beef and onions in large skillet until browned. Add beans and seasonings and mix well.

Grease 3 qt baking dish. Line bottom with 6 tortilla strips. Cover with half of meat mixture, and half of cheese. Repeat with last six tortillas cut in strips, meat, then cheese.

Mix soup and tomatoes w/chiles and pour over the top . Cover with foil and bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour.
