Tina's Notes:

I know there are alot of recepes out there for tater tot casserole but this beats all of the rest hands down.

Directions

1
Layer in a 9x13 inch baking dish cooked ground beef, then mushrooms and then the green beans on top of the mushrooms.
Sprinkile the cheese on top of the mushrooms.
2
Mix the Sour cream, onion soup, cream of mushroom soup and water chestnuts together. Heat in the microwave about 2 minutes. Pour on top of the layered ingredients in the baking dish.
3
Place tater tots on top single layer. One bag will almost fit the pan depending on how exact you place them.
4
Bake at 350 degrees, I usually cover for about 30 minutes then take off the foil and bake for an additional 30 minutes or until the sauce is bubbly and tots are golden brown.

Tina, this sounds much better than the traditional tater tot casserole that we have grown accustomed to. I am looking forward to making this one for sure!!

I am making this for supper, I changed up a couple of things. I don't like canned green beans so I used frozen. I had no sour cream so I used Mexican Crema and milk (a combo), I also used canned mushrooms too. A good recipe. I'll be taking a picture of this to add.

Trying tonite; will let you know how it turns out!! SO excited to FINALLY try one of these recipes for Tater Tot Casserole and I chose yours because I had ALL the ingredients and it just sounded the most flavorful. I might just tweak it a little bit (or course, don't all cooks) according to necessity or just to make it their own. Really excited though. My daughter and her fiance' are both firefighters and if this recipe passes the "TEST", it's going to their fire stations with them!!!! Wish me luck!
