Taco on a bun

2 french bread tacos

Lynn's Story

Like a change from your regular taco's? Try them on a bun instead of a taco shell.


2 lb
ground round
2 tsp
ea. of cumin, garlic granules, and chili powder
1 tsp
onion granules
1/4 c
loaves of french bread
8 slice
real american cheese
6-8 oz
grated cheddar
1/4 c
chopped onions
tomato chopped
lettuce opt
taco sauce

Directions Step-By-Step

Cook ground round with spices till done. Add salt to taste. Chop onions and tomatoes.
Cut off top 1/3 of sub buns and hollow out slightly by removing some of the bread inside (do not go all the way through to the bottom of the bun).
Place american cheese on bun, top with taco meat, onion, grated cheese and tomato (lettuce, opt). Add taco sauce on top id desired.

Well I just finished eating; what I could of the rest of my Taco on a Bun from last night. Surprisingly it was better today; guess it had time to marinate so to speak. I heated it up in the bag I had put it in for about 2 minutes in the nuker. It was not soggy, it held up very well and that was with everything on it as in the photo from last night. I will be making it again.

Thank you. It was good...still have half in there but I'm not eating it tonight. Lunch tomorrow.
I will tell him but you know how grown kids are....LOL I'm doing good to get him to eat what little lettuce I put on it. He is a meat and potato man.

I like the refry idea, think I'll do that next time. My son picked the tomatoes off!! So glad you liked it!!
