Steamed Barbecued Spareribs

I used to make these all the time; I haven't for awhile now. One thing I can tell you is that these are worth making. We all love them.

This recipe uses Country Style Spareribs!

Ingredients

3 lb
country style spare ribs, 3 inch lengths
1 medium
onion, chopped fine
2 Tbsp
white vinegar or apple cider
4 Tbsp
lemon juice
2 Tbsp
brown sugar
1/8 tsp
cayenne pepper (or to taste)
1 c
catsup
3 Tbsp
worcestershire sauce
1/2 Tbsp
ground mustard
1 c
water
1 Tbsp
celery salt
1 tsp
salt
1/2 tsp
pepper (or to taste)

Directions Step-By-Step

Brown ribs on both sides in a skillet. Place the browned ribs in a large saucepan that has a cover. Mix remaining ingredients together and pour over browned ribs. Cook on high heat until ribs start steaming then reduce heat to a simmer. Cook until ribs are tender about 1 1/2 hours.

Keep ribs covered while simmering to keep liquid in.
