How To Make steak house burgers

  • 1
Preheat grill to medium high heat; brush grate with oil or coat with cooking spray.
  • 2
In bowl, mix together beef, butter, garlic, pepper, salt & worcestershire until just combined (see note). Form mixture into 8 1" thick patties. NOTE: Do not overhandle meat mixture or burgers will be less juicy.

Place onion rings on grill. Close cover; cook until crisp & golden, 2 - 3 minutes each side. Transfer onion rings to plate.
  • 4
Place steak sauce in a small bowl; brush each burger with steak sauce. Transfer burgers to grill. Close cover; cook, brushing 1/2-way through with more steak sauce to desired doneness, about 3 - 7 per side.
  • 5
Place buns on grill, cut side down, for last minute of cooking & toast lightly.
  • 6
Place remaining steak sauce in seperate bowl, using a clean brush, brush burgers with additional sauce. Sandwich burgers, onion rings & tomato slices inside buns & serve.
