garlic clove, minced
1Lightly brown ground beef, in a medium saucepan.
2Stir in garlic, salt and pepper.
3Layer onion and tomatoes on top.
4Pour on black-eyed peas, liquid and all.
5Cover and bring to a boil.
6Reduce heat and simmer for thirty minutes, without stirring.
7Stew is done when the tomatoes are cooked.
8Ladle into serving bowls.
