5 pds potatoes
2 pds ground beef
1 lg.can tomatoes
1 tsp ea. salt and pepper

Directions

peel and slice potatoes thin. Rinse

in a small roaster pan start layering potatoes crumble beef on top of the potatoes add half can of sauce on top of the beef add salt and pepper. start a new layer the same way on top of second layer sprinkle 3T of grated parmesan cheese cover and bake at 350 for 2hrs.uncover and let cook for 30 mins. longer.

Carol, in your directions it says to add 1/2 can of sauce. However, your ingredients say tomatoes. Is it tomato sauce or tomatoes? Is the ground beef browned first before crumbling or raw?

Oh Vergie ~ this is not my recipe , I was just sharing it for Nancy, so hopefully Nancy will get back to you on it. It does say can of tomatoes, so maybe just add a half a can.

This can be doctored up so easily-add cumin, cayenne, mexican oregano, pepperjack cheese. Or cheddar cheese and some garlic and thyme and bay leaves.

Since it cooks for 2 hours-I would say she means raw meat.

This is Nancy' so sorry for the misunderstanding on this recipe you will need tomatoe sauce and the ground beef gets crumbled up while it is raw.. Once again sorry for the error please try recipe you will enjoy it. Nancy

also you will need to use a whole can of sauce; half on first layer and the other on second layer.
