Elizabeth's Story

Don't let the butter scare you! This roast was so delicious and moist. It has become a family favorite. You can make a side dish of mash potatoes or rice. There is plenty of juice!

Ingredients

chuck roast
1 pkg
hidden valley ranch dressing mix
1 pkg
mccormick au jus mix
1 stick
butter
5
pepperoncini peppers

Directions Step-By-Step

Place chuck roast in crock pot.

Sprinkle dry Hidden Valley Ranch dressing mix, add packet of dry McCormick Au Jus mix, a stick of butter and 5 pepperoncini peppers. DO NOT ADD WATER!

Cook on low 7-8 hours.

I am reading about doing this, adding that... if you are making this for the VERY first time, I encourage you to make it JUST as written. The point is how easy and convenient it is and on top of that...SOOO GOOD! Made it yesterday and it was our favorite roast ever!

Trying this today but I forgot to buy gravy as I normally make my gravy from scratch, and I didn't realize it goes into the crock pot. So will not having it ruin this tasty dish?
