I have made this recipe a number of times for both my husband and son. They both love it. I have made this for company as well and they liked it to. This recipe comes from the best cookbook ever "Mabel Hoffman's Crockery Cooking".
The author says " you can leave it cooking while you are at work, and it just takes minutes to complete once you get home" Trust me it's true. Give this recipe a try I guarantee you will not be sorry, it is so delicious. Enjoy! You could serve this dinner with a side salad to complete the meal.

Slow Cooker Crock Pot


1+1/2 to 2 lbs round steak (i use top sirloin)
1/2 tsp salt
1/8 tsp black pepper
1 onion sliced
1/4 tsp garlic salt
1 tbsp worchestershire sauce
1/2 tsp paprika
1-(10+1/2 oz) can of condensed beef broth
1 tbsp ketchup
2 tbsp dry red wine (i use 1/4 cup )
1/4 lb fresh mushrooms, sliced
3 tbsp cornstarch
1/4 cup of water
1 cup sour cream
cooked rice or noodles (i use broad noodles)


1Cut steak into 1/4 inch strips and season with salt and pepper

2Place steak and onion in a slow cooker

3Mix garlic salt, Worcestershire sauce, paprika, broth and ketchup in a bowl.

4Pour mixture over steak.

5Cover and cook on LOW for 6 to 7 hours or until steak is tender

6Turn control on HIGH. Add wine and mushrooms

7Dissolve cornstarch in water in a small bowl. Add to meat mixture, stirring until blended

8Cover and cook on HIGH 15 minutes or until slightly thickened

9Stir in sour cream. Turn off heat

10Serve with rice or noodles

11Sprinkle top with dried or fresh chopped parsley (Optional)
