Have been making these since in the 50s when I got it off a local TV program. Originally it was made in the oven but I have modified it for a slow cooker. It is a favorite of my friends and family.

Ingredients

1 clove
garlic, minced
3 lb
short ribs (can use part with the bone and part boneless)
2
medium onions, sliced and cut into forths
1 c
vinegar (i use half white and half cider vinegar)
1 Tbsp
paprika (i use hungarian but any will do)
1/2 tsp
chili powder
1/4 to 1/2 tsp
red pepper (cayenne) to your own taste
1 can(s)
beef broth
1/2 tsp
dry mustard
salt and pepper to taste

Step-By-Step

1Brown short ribs and put into slow cooker.
2Mix all ingredients together and pour over the short ribs in the slow cooker.
3Cover and cook for 2 hours on high and from 6 to 8 hours on low. Will depend on your individual cooker. Mine is one you preset so I can pick the proper time.
4Serve over noodles or over rice.
