Ingredients For roundsteak sauerbraten

1 1/2 lbtop round steak cut in strips

1 Tbspvegetable oil

1 pkgdry brown gravy mix

2 cwater

1 Tbsponion powder
-
1 Tbspbrown sugar

2 Tbspred wine vinegar
-
1 tspworcestershire sauce
-
1/2 tspground ginger
-
1bayleaf
-
1/2 tspsalt

To tasteground black pepper
How To Make roundsteak sauerbraten

1Heat the oil in large saucepan over medium heat. Add the sliced meat and brown well. Remove meat, add the gravy mix and water and brin to a boil, stirring constantly.

2Stir in the onion powder, brown sugar, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce,ginger, bay leaf,and salt and pepper to taste. Return the meat to pan, reduce heat to low, cover and simmer for one hour or until meat is tender. Remove bayleaf.

3Note: you could also transfer to casserole dish and bake at 350° for 1 1/2 hours!
