One fine day someone at Betty Crocker's office decided not to sell Rice oriental to the Reynolds Residence because they liked it so well. So I set out to figure it out and after researching and experimenting finally figured out how to make as close the box version as possible. This is required at least 1 time a month at our house.

pinch tips: How to Mince Garlic

1 lb
ground beef
1 pkg
williams brown gravy mix with beef broth
1 pkg
brown gravy mix (i use great value)
3 1/2 c
water, divided use
1 pkg
fried rice seasoning mix
1 1/2 c
minute rice
2 Tbsp
brown gravy mix (optional if you like a little more brown gravy taste)

Directions Step-By-Step

Brown Ground Beef and Drain. Then place in a large skillet is what I use.
Add Rice to hamburger with 2 1/2 Cup of hot Tap Water.
Mix Williams Brown Gravy Mix and Fried Rice Seasoning into 1 Cup Water and to hamburger and rice mixture. Bring to a low boil for 10 minutes
In a seperate small pan mix remaining pack of brown gravy mix and cook as directed on packet. Add to hamburger and rice mixture after mixture has boiled at medium heat for 10 minutes. Stir, turn off heat, and cover for 10 minutes. Add 2 Tbsp of gravy mix (optional)sprinkled in also before covering.
Remove cover and stir. Enjoy

I loved that Oriental Rice. They stopped selling it everywhere. But, just recently I saw something like it here at Walmart.

What was the name of the product you found at Walmart? I have loved this product for years. I make it into a "Mock Chow Mein" which we love..I add celery, put it over the crisp noodles and serve the rice on the side!!

Not a fan of ground up pork or chicken that they serve at the restaurant. I trust the beef!!

I would appreciate your comments..Thank you~
