Rhineland Casserole(in the Crockpot)

I was thinking of making a meatloaf but I had to use up my cabbage so I made this instead. This can be easily done on the stovetop too.

Ingredients

1 lb
hamburger
1/2 lb
bulk italian sausage
1
onion
1 tsp
garlic powder
1 tsp
black pepper
1 tsp
kosher salt
2
bay leaves
4
white pototoes
1 small
cabbage
4-6
pickles
1 can(s)
beef broth
1 c
water

Step-By-Step

1Brown hamburger and sausage together, place in crockpot. (Remove some of the grease if too much)
2Cut onion into fairly large slices and place on the meat.
3Add spices. Pour broth over all. Add water.
4Cut potatoes into thick slices and place over onions.
5Cook on High for 2 hours. Or until potatoes are done.
6Add pickles(cut in half or thirds) and cabbage(cut in wedges)
7Cook til cabbage is to your liking. 20 mins to 45mins.
