Ingredients

HAMBURGER STEAK
1 lb ground beef
1 c panko bread crumbs
1 egg
1 can(s) 15 oz size of vegie mix without the potatoes
1 tsp italian seasoning
1 clove garlic grated
GRAVY
1 can(s) beef broth
1/4 c wine,merlot
1/4 c heavy cream
1 sweet oinion, sliced
1 c sliced mushrooms
1 Tbsp italian seasoning
1 Tbsp worchestershire sauce
3 Tbsp flour
olive oil, extra virgin, enough to cover bottom of pan
salt and pepper to taste
MASH POTATOES AND LARGE HAMBURGER
BUNS

I saw Rachel Ray making a hamburger shepards pie last week and thought that is something I can also do with my Hamburger Stear recipe.

HAMBURGER STEAK: In a large mixing bowl put in the hamburger and egg. Mix egg in good. Add all the ingredients except vegetable blend. Mix good then add vegies and mix well.

Patty up about 4 patties or the way you want them to be in size. Broil or grill till done on both sides and center.

Mash your potatoes and add garlic and chives and set aside

Gravy: Place olive oil in a large skillet and let get hot then add in onions, mushrooms and grate the garlic over this and simmer till tender. Salt and pepper to taste and add italian season. Spinkle with the flour and stir like a paste. Add the wine and then the cream. Stir well and add in the beef broth. Cook till thick if you need to make thicker then add a little more flour but not directly in the gravy because it will lump but add with the broth and then to the gravy. Set aside

Bun: Toast the buns and remove and butter the buttom and sprinkle with garlic powder. I used all the buns upside down for the top one but used them all.

Place the bun down on a cookie sheet with the steak burger on top, then add a scoop of mashed potatoes and place under the broil about 5 minutes on low and place the rack low. Keep an eye on it so not to burn.

Remove from the oven and pour over the gravy.

Now ready to eat your Hamburger Steak Shepards Pie.

Looks good girl. I have a simple one posted. I so wish I could eat this kind of food right now but no gravy and it is killing me! Would love to have your pork chops again!

Lol do you think I should be eating like this? No hahhaha just have to be bad and tonight it is cow poke beans and BBQ Meatloaf of Dianes lol I am sooo bad to the fat bone hahaha

looks and sounds good...I'm having slow cooked flank steak, mashed taters & your gravy...mmmm, yep we are bad all the way through the fat to the bone...but we're fun!!! ♥
