I think most folks grew up on a tight budget. As a result, our family was big on "extender meals". However, this was one of our family's favorites. It was one of my kid's favorites as well (w/2 cans of corn).Now they are grown it's a going on the 3rd generation. What makes it even better; it taste even better as a leftover. It is super easy to make a low fat/low sodium version that tastes just as good. I have substituted ground chicken or turkey, low fat cream soups and low fat sour cream and it was enjoyed just the same!
noodles, medium sized cooked
ground beef, chicken or turkey
whole kernel sweet corn (drained)
cream of mushroom soup
cream of celery soup
2Cook noodles as directed on package. Definately do not over cook. I actually slightly under cook them so they do not get too mushy when you bake them in the mixture above.
3In a skillet brown your onions and ground meat with a dash of salt and pepper. Drain fat as needed.
