A friend made some grilled cheese burger sandwiches and I decided to put my own little spicy spin on it.

I use potato bread and cajun seasoned bacon.

YUM!

Notes from the Test Kitchen:
Kick your next cookout up a few notches with these delicious burgers! We absolutely love the heat Jen added with the jalapenos and pepper jack.

Ingredients

BURGERS
1 lb
beef
1/2-3/4 c
bacon, cooked and crumbled
worcestershire sauce to taste
1/4 c
beef broth
garlic salt and pepper to taste
GRILLED SANDWICH
8 slice
of your favorite bread
8 slice
pepper jack cheese
1 c
nacho sliced jalapenos
butter, margarine, or mayo

1
Fire up grill. Mix burger ingredients until bacon is evenly distributed and meat soaks up liquid.
2
Grill until juices run clear or slightly pink. Cover burgers with foil to keep warm.
3
Spread butter, margarine or mayo on one side of each slice of bread. Place four slices of bread, butter side down in large fry pan. Put one slice of pepperjack on each slice of bread. Divide jalapenos into four portions and top each slice with jalapenos. Top jalapenos with rest of pepperjack. Add rest of bread, butter side up.
4
Fry on medium until cheese is melted.
5
Open up grilled cheese and jalapeno sandwich and place warm burger inside and close sandwich. Slice down the middle.

Shirley -- 'Kraft' has a pepper cheese - I cannot recall the exact name they use for it - if you can buy Kraft in Winnipeg, contact www.kraftfoods.com and find out where they sell it.
Also, if you have Aldi's grocery stores in Winnepeg, they carry pepper Jack!!
Good Luck Shirley!!!

Pepper jack is Monterey Jack cheese with bits of jalapeño. Not sure if that helps...

Angela - If you make this, it's only 1/4 c. per burger!!
I intend not to use any - unless someone requests them.
Or, maybe some canned green chilis!!
Yes, I'm a chicken when it come to 'too hot' - 'too spicy' foods!
And, my body will give me h*ll if I do!!

Whoa! A whole cup of jalapeño slices seems like an awful lot. That might be a little too spicy for my family. Has anyone made them with less? Are they still delicious and have a small kick to them?
