Grilled Marinated Sirloin Steak

1 lb
sirloin steak, cut into 1" thick
1 Tbsp
balsamic vinegar
1 Tbsp
tomato paste
garlic cloves, minced
1 Tbsp
fresh thyme
1 tsp
1/2 tsp
peppercorns, cracked


1Place the steak in a shallow glass dish or pie pan.

2Combine the marinade ingredients; spread evenly over both sides of the steak.

3Let stand at room temperature 30 minutes, or cover and refrigerate up to 8 hours.

4Prepare a charcoal grill or preheat the broiler.

5Grill or broil the steak 4 to 5 inches from the heat source 4 minutes per side for medium rare, or to desired doneness.

6Discard the marinade.

7Slice the steak into thin strips; serve immediately.
