Ingredients

1 - 2 lb
london broil
1 tsp
vegetable oil
coarse ground salt and pepper
1-2 Tbsp
paprika

OR, IF DESIRED, SKIP THE PAPRIKA AND MAKE THE FOLLOWING SAUCE:

2 Tbsp
shoyu (soy sauce)
2 Tbsp
sherry
1 1/2 Tbsp
honey

Directions Step-By-Step

Heat broiler; set rack 4" from heat.
Line broiler pan with aluminum foil.
Brush steak with vegetable oil, season with salt, pepper and paprika; repeat on other side.

** if desired: INSTEAD OF THE PAPRIKA:
mix together soy sauce, sherry and honey, stir till blended.
spoon or brush mixture on all sides of meat before broiling. (this is my personal preference.)
don't have to use sauce, it's great either way. the paprika gives it a great color; the sauce gives it a more asian flavor.

Broil till beautifully brown on one side, 5-7 minutes; turn over and continue cooking to desired doneness (5-8 minutes more).

Transfer to plate; cover loosely with foil and let rest 5-10 minutes before slicing.

Slice meat thinly against the grain, and serve.

**another note: if you decide to make the sauce instead of putting paprika on the steak, you might want to marinate the steak for a couple of hours in the fridge before cooking, using the same ingredients listed above for sauce.
