Easy Sheppards Pie

I have no idea how I came up with this recipe. I have been making it ever since I graduated High School (1990). It is really yummy and quick/easy to fix. I just made it for the first time for my husband's family for a potluck. We didnt bring any home - it went over that well! This is by far my favorite casserole in the world. I hope you enjoy it as much as we do!

1 box
(2 pouches) betty crocker sour cream and chive instant mashed potatoes - prepared
2 lb
extra lean ground beef
1 pkg
(16 oz.) frozen mixed veggies - thawed and drained
2 can(s)
(small) tomato paste
generous splashes worcestershire sauce
3 pinch
(generous) garlic powder
3 pinch
(generous) paprika
salt and pepper to taste


1Heat oven to 350 degrees. Brown hamburger seasoned with garlic powder, worcestershire sauce, paprika, salt and pepper. When cooked through mix both cans of tomato paste in the hamburger mixture. Spoon into 9X13 pan and spread evenly.
2Layer thawed and drained frozen mixed veggies on top of the hamburger layer.
3Evenly spread prepard mashed potatoes on top. Bake uncovered, on middle rack until heated through. Enjoy!
