easy beef pie
This is one of our earliest favorites. We found it in the Great American Recipes card collection and adapted it a bit for our own taste preferences. Hearty and delicious!

Ingredients
- 1 pound round steak, cut into 1/4" cubes
- 2 cups white potatoes, cut into 1/4" pieces
- 3/4 cup fresh mushrooms, sliced
- 3 tablespoons chopped onion
- 1 jar beef gravy
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme leaves
- 3 - refrigerated pie crusts, not pre-formed
How To Make easy beef pie

Step 1Combine round steak, potatoes, mushrooms, onion, gravy, pepper, and thyme leaves.

Step 2Place pie crusts on an ungreased cookie sheet. Spoon the meat filling on one half of each pastry. Fold pastry over filling to make a half circle. Moisten the inside with a little water. Pinch the edge with your fingers to seal. Cut three slits in the top of each pastry. Beat an egg yolk with a few drops of water. Brush each pastry with mixture.

Step 3Bake at 400*F for 45 minutes, or until golden.
