  • 6 lg
    onions, chopped
  • 3/4 c
    butter
  • 2 - 32 oz box
    beef broth, reduced sodium
  • 2 Tbsp
    worcestershire sauce, reduced sodium
  • 3
    bay leaves
  • 3 c
    heavy cream, room temperature
  • 10 - 12 slice
    garlic texas toast
  • 30 - 36 slice
    provolone cheese

How To Make creamy french onion soup

    In a large skillet, saute onions in butter until crisp tender. Transfer to a 5-qt crock pot. Add the broth, worcestershire & bay leaves.

    Cover & cook on low for 6 1/2 hours or until the onions are tender. Discard bay leaves. Add cream; stir to combine. Cover & cook 1 hour more.

    Make garlic texas toast according to directions on package.

    Ladle soup into ovenproof bowls. Top each with a slice of texas toast; add 3 slices of cheese per bowl. Place bowls on a baking sheet. Broil for 2 - 3 minutes or until cheese is lightly golden.
